the weekend that was dec 27-28

I've been procrastinating for the past weeks so for this weekend, since I'm in the mood, I did a lot of photo uploading and web browsing. I also got the chance to watch Kung Fu Panda, and I liked it a lot (it's now one of my favorites!). I don't have much to say about this weekend except that I rested well (well, not really well...) in preparation for the coming year end closing. Did some updating of my other spaces in the cyberworld and some reading.

Early morning of Sunday when we received the good news from Ate, they have already received the package and they liked everything we sent. And I quote: "Natanggap namin lahat. (50K remember?)"

the weekend that was dec 20-21: overdue

Time to rest after a tiring week. Haaay! Did a lot of reading, bloghopping, moviewatching and chatting. Also, we prepared our "package" for my sister, my bro-in-law and my pamangkins. Norly's brother and his family is migrating into Canada and will be leaving in the 26th.

I wonder what would their reaction be, will they be as excited as we are when we receive balikbayan boxes? Oh well, we just have to wait for a few days more before they see what we have bought for them (camouflage and maong pants for Norly, manicure set and sewing kit for Ate, jogging pants, jackets and shoes for Lex, pajamas and jacket for Cayon, and socks and feeding set for Lance).

the weekend that was dec 13-14: overdue

Late na akong bumangon, kahit maaga akong nagising hehe! Nagpahatid na ko ng before lunch sa amin para makapag-prepare ako (at makapag-byuti rest na din) for that night's affair. 4 PM sinundo ulit ako ni Irvin para ihatid sa Sofitel for our Christmas party. Buti naman at di kailangan ang masyadong effort para sa damit this time, jazz up your jeans lang kasi ang tema. Sabagay last year naman natakasan ko masquerade theme dahil nasa Boracay ako nun :)

Anyway, hi-way, trapik ebriwer! As in, nakakagigil talaga! 6:30 na kami nakadating sa MOA to meet my friends pero okey pa din dahil konti pa lang ang tao sa venue. At ang mas masaya, dinner is served na. Luckily, buffet ang chibog this time (unlike nu'ng anniversary) at lahat na-enjoy namin, lalo na 'yung dessert. Busog naman before kami mag-program proper.

Out muna this year ang indakan, in ang rampa.

Sunday. The usual lang, books and internet :) At siyempre shopping pa din para sa mga pamangkins!

the weekend that was dec 6-7: overdue

Shopping mode!

:) Haaay!

samu't sari

1. Several days ago, nag-appear ang smiling moon (I think December 1 'yun). Akalain mo, Jupiter + Venus + Moon = Smiley!

2. Nag-team bonding kami last November 26. But overall, I liked the movie. Will I read the book? I'll see. (I'm not the type who would read the book just because everybody reads it, kunyari against the flow ako. Kapag nag-lielow na sila, might read the book and get kilig na!)

When you can live forever, what do you live for?

3. I'm almost complete with my Eraserheads CD Thank you, Irvin! for the Eraserheads CDs you gave me last November 12. Konti na lang!

4. Salamat, mga friendships - JJ, Marie, Grace and Melody! I hope to utilize this extensively in 2009. Mwah!

5. Dumating na ang friendship naming si Mhay from US. As expected, walang pasalubong. Hehehe! Sana magpakain na lang di ba? :)

let it snow! let it snow! let it snow!

Siyempre hindi sa Pilipinas 'to! Kaku-cute!

lex kulet 9

Biglang yumakap si Lex kay Daddy…
Lex: Daddy, tayo magkamukha, di ba? We have the same color. 2 blacks, right?
:: Hahaha! No comment na lang ako… :P ::

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

Lex: Mommy, it's not a policeman, it's a stayyyyyytue!
:: As always, mali na naman si Mommy! ::

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

Lex: Oh God, I like it PLENTIFUL!
:: O ha! Bongga! ::

melodic midweek

Switchfoot - You

There's always something in the way
There's always something getting through
But it's not me
It's You
Sometime's ignorance rings true
But hope is not in what I know
Not in me
It's in You
It's all I know
And I find peace when I'm confused
I find hope when I'm let down
Not in me
But in You
I hope to lose myself for good
I hope to find it in the end
Not in me
It's You
It's all I know

the weekend that was nov 29-dec 2: overdue

We're going to Baguio!

Irvin and I are first timers so I'm happy to be in the company of friends who have been there a lot of times. We left the bus terminal at 12:45 AM, slept while travelling and woke up to the sight of the foggy, winding roads of the North. And then, I saw the "Welcome to Baguio" sign. Finally!

While waiting for that someone who will show us the way to the transient house we rented, we had breakfast at McDonald's first. And then, the hassle of waiting for our room…haaay! Grrr! Very disappointing, promise!

As soon as we got the chance to leave our bags safely, we proceeded with our Baguio tour (even if we have not taken a bath yet, so as not to waste our very precious time).

1st stop - Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Managed to say a short prayer in between heavy breathing after climbing 250+ steps.

2nd stop - Taw-awan Village. A small compound showcasing Igorot artworks and native houses. The smell of basil leaves invited us to have lunch there. The food is quite okay except for the mountain rice that doesn't look edible, hehehe, and it's quite expensive.

3rd stop - House. Bathtime!

4th stop - Baguio Botanical Garden. Being surrounded by a lot of flowers, a lot of photo opps!

5th stop - The Mansion. It's already dark so wala lang!

6th stop - Market. We already bought our pasalubongs. Vegetables are really cheap here!

7th stop - SM Baguio. Had our dinner at Don Hen. Brrrrr!

We then retired for the night. My plan is to close my eyes for a few secs, the next thing I knew is that Irvin wakes me up because I snore too loud. Hehehe! Thanks to Marie, Grace, JJ and Irvin for the breakfast (ako lang ang walang participation sa pag-prepare, pero sa pagkain, hindi nagpahuli). The water is sooooo cold. As in! (Promise!)

1st stop - Baguio (Our Lady of Atonement) Cathedral. We attended the mass and had picturetaking after.

2nd stop - PMA. We had fun posing with the tanks and other weapons of destruction :). We visited the museum, climbed a treehouse, walked and posed!

3rd stop - Mines View Park. We enjoyed the sweet corn! Andaming tao so konting picturetaking lang.

Uwian na! We returned to our very memorable house to pack our things up. Had lunch at McDo and waited at the Victory Liner Terminal. The bus left at 2:20 PM. All is well with the trip except for the kulang-sa-pansin guy in our front. He might be from a country where attention is inadequate, poor guy.

We were at the Pasay terminal at around 8 PM, took a cab and got off at SM Bacoor. Rest na.

Monday (National Heroes Day). We woke up early, we'll be going to Greenhills to buy…dyaraaaan!

Irvin liked it so much (or at least that's what I think…)

Dropped by the office to work for less than an hour. Had lunch at SM at bought some goodies for Ate.

Tuesday. Wasn't feeling well. Worked from home, thanks to the good souls who helped me out. Rest.

photo journal: the color of christmas

the weekend that was nov 22-25: overdue

Friday night. Still got a lot of work to do so inspite of me taking a beauty rest and to prepare for tomorrow's team bonding, I was at my workstation, formatting Excel worksheets, answering emails, posting journal entries until 2 AM.

Saturday. With 3 hours of sleep, I woke up at around 6:30 for our team bonding in Tagaytay Highlands. Irvin will drive me direct to the site so I won't have to wake up earlier just to catch up with my teammates. We enjoyed the Eraserhead Reunion Concert CD and McDonald's breakfast on our way, and of course, the scenery, the cold air, the fog.

My teammates were already waiting for me (it's Marie's fault haha!). As soon as I set my feet off the car, picturetaking agad and then we started to navigate the place. I'm not new to Tagaytay, it's like my nth time this year but I still enjoy the cold air and the greenish surroundings and the picturetaking opportunities.

We enjoyed the ride at the cable car (it's not as scary as I have experienced in Singapore where my knees and hands are awfully shaking) and the photo opps at various parts of Tagaytay Highlands. We had lunch at the Country Club (this we did not enjoy, harhar!), then my officemates tried the Go Kart (and I tried not to laugh with their bloopers but I just can't). Our last stop is the mini zoo, where I had fun posing with different birds (parrots to be specific) around me.

We had our last of Tagaytay team bonding moments at Starbucks. Well, for me, it's the last of my happy moments for the day.
JJ and I returned to the office to party and enjoy the night! Yahoo! Hahaha, joke! Sadly, we had to work that night. Yes. Working at Saturday night. Right after the team bonding. And we went home at around 5 AM of Sunday.

Sunday. I woke up at 10:30 AM, I still have to work to meet the deadline at 5 PM. I failed to meet the deadline but managed to finish at around 11 PM that night. I cried a lot of times today - when the connection seem to fail and when I realized that I was not able to go to mass because of this GL validation (and because this could have been prevented only if…haaay…) and when Nanay talked to me on the phone and when Tatay talked to Irvin on the phone and when I finally got tired of all this against-work-life-balance crap and when Irvin held me in his arms. :(

I took a much needed 2-day leave. Although it seemed like I did not take a leave because I still work at home, checking emails and receiving work-related messages and calls, I still appreciated the time that I had with the people I miss most - Irvin and my parents. Also, I got to shop for my Ate!
