the weekend that was nov 15-16: overdue

Friday night. It's Irvin's (and Kuya Allan's) birthday celebration so I decided to sleep at my parents'. I was home early (I mean early than the usual) but my parents are already asleep. Nanay woke up to accompany me while I prepare my bed. Got the chance to read before I sleep :)

Saturday. Woke up at around 8 AM, started chatting with Nanay and Tatay while surfing the net. Irvin came at around 12 NN (again, just in time for lunch) and we left the house at around 3 PM. We waited for Ate Sette to come home at we left for Tagaytay at 5 PM. We dined at Leslie's - bulalo special, deep fried chicken, laing, chopsuey, inihaw na liempo, and crabs. Yummy, as in! Starbucks c/o Ate Sette afterwards. (Thanksgiving daw and Bake and Churn's 1st monthsary...hehehe!) Happy birthday to Irvin and happy anniversary to us.

We woke up early, supposedly to go home early, but we enjoyed the Sunday morning so much that we decided to stay for a couple more hours. We then left their house and went to ours. We got the chance to chat with my Ate, Lex is not really in the mood, but Clyron is making pasikat. (He knows belat and ba-bye already - talented!) We've had pata tim for lunch and Irvin left. He had to attend to his baby while I did some stuff - get manicure, Facebook, Friendster, blogging, bloghopping, blah blah. Irvin picked me up (again!) to go to the wake of his officemate's (our Ninong) sister's wake.

We were home at around 8 PM, I still worked that night. Hay! I miss non-working weekends. Really!

One year na pala, ang bilis naman.

Hindi mala-fairy tale ang drama ng love story namin, hindi pang-teleserye at lalong hindi pang-comics. Comedy siguro, pwede pa. Pero hindi ko din naman masasabi na palagi kaming masaya. At 'yun ang excitement ng buhay namin - paano maging mas masaya kung masaya at paano muling sumaya kapag nasaktan ang isa.

One year na pala, ang bilis naman. Parang kailan lang nagpaplano pa kami ng kasal, brainstorming, budgeting, understanding at misunderstanding. Simple lang sana ang unang plano namin - mga 50 guests, closest family at friends, closed door church ceremony, naka-simpleng white dress ako at naka-polo siya, manghihila ng kakilala para kumuha ng pictures, reception sa restaurant, walang program, chika-chika lang. Oo, pinangarap ko din naman ikasal sa simbahan ng naka-wedding gown at maglakad sa mahabang aisle na madaming flowers, pero handa akong magsakripisyo ng pangarap sa ngalan ng pagiging praktikal.

Aalis na papuntang Canada ang Ate ko at ilang years pa bago sila makauwi dito. Dalawa lang kaming magkapatid kaya hindi ako papayag na wala siya sa isa sa pinakamahalagang araw sa buhay ko. Premature ng ilang buwan ang kasal namin dahil supposedly January 2008 pa kami magpapakasal. Kulang ang oras at ipon. Kaya akalain ba namin matutuloy din iyon? Talaga yatang kapag si God ang nagplano, plantsado. Bumuhos ang madaming biyaya para makaraos ang isang simple at tradisyonal na kasal - financial help at mismong mga pagkakataon.

One year na pala, ang bilis naman. Hindi ko pa lubusang napapasalamatan ang mga taong dapat tumanggap nito. Kaya naman para sa inyo din ang post na ito,(in no particular order)...

• Sa families namin for the moral support, with special mention to my Ate na lingid sa kaalaman ng madaming tao (kasama ang mga magulang ko) na noong time na 'yon ay 3 months ng buntis sa 3rd baby nya. Tumayong PA (as in punong abala), mula pagkuha ng requirements sa munisipyo, pagpapa-schedule sa simbahan, pagsama sa Divisoria, pagsama sa akin sa confession sa mismong araw ng kasal at sa madami pang pabor na hiningi ko at ginawa nya. (Perfect na sana, kaso kulang sa financial support. Don't worry, hindi pa huli ang lahat.)
• Paula, my nonbiological hipag at nonbiological utol ng aking Mi Amore, salamat sa moral support simula pa lang ng simula namin. I will always treasure the times na magkakasama tayo, ang mga love letters, ang Rustan's, ang bag na ipinantakip mo kapag nagho-holding hands kami, ang mapa papunta sa bahay namin.
• To AMASE, salamat mga panget. Pasensya na kay Sarah at Mhay na hindi ko kayo napadalahan ng pamasahe pauwi ng Pilipinas. Agnes and Leng, thank you sa pagiging secondary sponsors ng walang cost. Hehehe!
• Kay Agnes ulit para sa loaned money at sa accessories ko nu'ng wedding.
• To IMMAFEO, kahit hindi kayo kumpleto, salamat sa effort. At miss ko na kayo.
• Father Alain, thank you po for squeezing our humble wedding into your very hectic schedule. Nagbukas ang pintuan ni simbahan kahit Lunes ng dahil sa amin.
• Kay Manong na tagabantay at tagalinis ng simbahan ng Rosario, thank you. At kay Kuya na nag-aayos ng schedule ng simbahan, salamat sa pagpapagamit ng bagong carpet ng simbahan.
• Sa mga Ninongs and Ninangs, thank you so much. I hope we can visit you all sa Christmas.
• Kay Nonoy na talaga namang love na love ko, salamat sa honeymoon package.
• To Aleli, my business partner, salamat sa wedding ring. 100% Saudi gold!
• To my li'l sis, Jen Joyce, for financing the cost of our wedding invitation. Mwaaah!
• To the talented Mr. Leyo, you're the man! I owe a lot to this guy. Una, sa gown at accessories ko at ng buong female entourage. Second, sa flowers (apologetic pa siya pero super not bad for a non-pro). Third, for the cute gift tags.
• Sa Baloy's Catering, uber yummy ang food at cheap pa. Kahit hindi namin masyadong nalasahan ang food ng mismong wedding, we have received a lot of feedback na okay ang food. Okey din ang decoration, except for the alien-like thing doon sa table namin. Okey din ang service, I have not heard any negative comments. (And to Ate Joy, backer...)
• Kay Ate Sally na nagpa-schedule sa amin sa Chua's Pavilion, kaya naka-discount.
• To my Chevron colleagues slash friends, thank you sa bridal shower at sa effort na pakantahin si Mi Amore that day. Nakakalungkot na hindi nakapunta si Irvin sa dami ng pre-wedding errands na inutos ko sa kanya. Thak you sa fun, sa condom, sa lingerie at sa mga advice from the married pips.
• To Ching-Ching and Lorns, salamat sa misalette.
• Kay Anne Sy, na nag-back up sa akin sa mga gawaing pang-opisina.
• Sa Hairshape Salon for my hair and make-up. Naks! (Parang tunog artista...)
• Sa Dreamline Digital Video and Photography, for the discount.
• Sa Mount Sea Resort, ang piping saksi ng mga unang oras namin bilang mag-asawa. (Kung makakapagsalita lang ang kwartong iyon, sasabihin nyang mukha kaming pera. Hihihi!)
• Sa Cakefarm, sa uber cute at yummy na cakes.
• Kay Ate Beth na kumakanta sa church, salamat sa discount.
• Sa nag-provide ng lights and sounds sa reception namin, sorry hindi ko kayo kilala. Thank you na din kahit winala nyo 'yung CD ko na pinaghirapan kong i-burn the day before the wedding.
• Sa National Bookstore, Landmark, Divisoria at SM sa mga achuchu.

Pasensya na sa mga nakalimutan kong banggitin, basta thankful ako sa inyong lahat.

At pahabol pa pala, salamat sa nag-effort na pumunta kahit na may pasok pa kinabukasan. Salamat sa mga nagregalo ng lamp, rice cooker, electric fan, etcetera, lalong-lalo na sa nagbigay ng cash at GC. Nakabili kami ng ref, digicam, mga gamit sa bahay (kahit wala kaming bahay) at nagamit namin sa honeymoon namin sa Bora (sulit, promise).

One year na pala, ang bilis naman. Pero madami na din akong natutunan. Nalaman ko na hindi pala dapat magaslaw kapag kakatapos lang ayusan ng hair and makeup artist dahil papagalitan ka nila. Nalaman ko na pangit pala kapag tumatawa habang naglalakad sa aisle (ang chaka sa video, buti na lang cute pa din ako). At nalaman ko na masarap pala...ang magbilang ng datung after ng kasal ('yan ang una naming ginawa).

Nalaman ko ding masaya ang matulog at gumising katabi ang pinakapoging boylet sa buong universe. Nakakatawa pa din kapag nagpapa-cute kami sa isa'-isa at kapag nagre-reminisce ng aming good ol' days. Ayos lang kapag nag-aaway, kaya nga may kiss and make up, di ba? Masayang maging part ng isang bagong pamilya (kahit mga Kapuso sila...hmph).

One year na pala, ang bilis naman. Madami pa akong kailangang matutunan.

It's our 1st wedding anniversary today. And this occasion gives me a good opportunity to be grateful...

Thank you God, You really know I would need someone as patient and as understanding as Irvin. And thank you Irvin, for making me feel like I am lovable even if I am not.

the weekend that was nov 8-9

We have planned for this some months ago - Divisoria for an early Christmas shopping. So this is it! With just 4 hours of sleep, I went on with Saturday shopping with Agnes and Nanay. Got gift items for inaanaks at a very cheap price. Harhar! We finished early (well, because we started early) and went home. Irvin and I still got the chance to attend the mass then we went to SM with my MIL and Kishie.

We were supposed to sleep at my parents but it was raining hard so we decided to stay at my in-laws. Boring Saturday night, with no one to talk to. *Sigh*

We went to Salinas early and rested. Haaay, gloomy weather…just like me.

Tita (kontrabida mode): Lex! Lex! E sabi ng sun, hindi na daw siya babalik dyan sa Canada…

Lex: Di na punta sun dito?

Tita: Hindi na daw e.

Lex (teary eyed, cracked voice): *Hikbi!* Pa'no na ko magpe-play…? Pa'no na ko watch Dora…?
Tita (nakonsensya agad, sayang!): Ay, teka lang. Tatawagan ko 'yung sun. (Kunyari kausap sa cellphone) Hello, sun! Sun, punta ka nga ka sa Canada ha? (And to Lex) O ayan, Lex, babalik na daw 'yung sun dyan.
Lex (happy na ulet): Thank you, Tita! Remember, talk to the sun!

the weekend that was nov 1-2: overdue

Mapayapa ang Sabado ng mga namayapa. Afterlunch na kmi umalis ni Irvin papuntang Naic, buti na lang nakahiram siya ng kotse kay Ate hehe! Madaming puntod ang dinadalaw namin sa Naic sa dalawang hiwalay na sementeryo. Saglit lang kmi, as per tradition, kandila at dasal lang ang inalay. Pupunta naman sa Tanza ang Nanay ko, hindi na ako sumama dahil pupunta din naman ako dun sa gabi. Natulog muna kami bago pumunta ulit sa sementeryo, kasama ko naman ang mga in-laws ko. Chika at chicha galore.

Nagpahatid na ko sa amin, manonood pa sana ako ng TV kaso ayaw na ko samahan ng nanay ko. E horroristic pa naman, ayun nagbasa na lang ako :)

Sunday. Sumaglit kami sa Love Memorial Park nila Nanay at Tatay. Tapos, the usual Sunday lang :).
